現在, 仮想サーバーに入れたMySQLは以下の通り5.7です。

[tatsuya@ip-10-0-0-238 rails] $sudo rpm -ivh https://dev.mysql.com/get/mysql80-community-release-el7-2.noarch.rpm https://dev.mysql.com/get/mysql80-community-release-el7-2.noarch.rpm を取得中 エラー: 依存性の欠如: mysql57-community-release は mysql80-community-release-el7-2.noarch と競合します。
MySQL5.7がすでに入っていて、新たに入れようとしているMySQL8.0と競合を起こすとエラーが出ています。
$ yum list installed | grep mysql でインストール済みのmysqlを確認できる
